Robert Glenn Armfield
Murdered November 8, 2002

Robert Armfield

My husbands name was Robert Glenn Armfield, he was a long-haul truck driver and worked for Crete Carrier Corporation. He was found murdered on Novermber 8, 2002. His company hadn't heard from him in over 30 hours and he had missed a delivery on November 7, 2002. He had a computer tracking system in his truck and so his company knew where his truck was parked. They called the police and a state trooper went to check it out. He was found lying on the floor of his 2002 Freightliner Tractor, owned by Crete Carrier Corporation of Lincoln, Nebraska. The truck is red in color. He had been shot five times. Twice in the back of the head, once in the shoulder, once in the chest and once in the abdomen. All shots were contact shots. The time of death has been pin pointed to early Wednesday morning, on November 6, 2002. His truck was at Illinois Rt. 161 ramp to I-64 East, Mascoutah Township, St. Clair County, Illinois. He was dressed in blue plaid flannel pajama pants and a blue long sleeve Henley shirt. The killers stole his cell phone, lap top computer and wallet. The police have an ATM video picture of a white male using Robert's ATM card at a truck stop in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. The man was wearing blue jeans, a white sleeveless t-shirt and a baseball cap. The picture was taken in the afternoon around 4:30 on November 6, 2002. The man was seen leaving the truck stop with another man and a woman. At the same time another man going north on I-55 in Illinois made a phone call on Robert's cell phone. He called two separate numbers in St. Louis, Missouri. He lefted a phone message on an answering machine at one of the numbers, saying he had just killed my husband. In the message he said his name was "Jamal". There are no known witnesses and this is all the information I have at this time.
