Janelle johnson was originally from Montana had gone to Denver from Riverton to attend modeling school was hitchhiking from Rawlins Wyoming to Riverton when killed.
January, 1983: moved from Glasgow, Montana, to Riverton, Wyoming
February 16, 1983: 23rd Birthday; left Riverton between 5 & 6 PM
called roommate in Riverton, arrived in Denver

February 17, 1983: interviewed with Vannoy Talent Center
left Denver approximately 5:30 PM for Riverton
approximately 9 PM at truck stop in Sinclair, Wyoming

February 22, 1983: Missing Person Report filed with Riverton Police Department

March 1, 1983: The body of Jannele Johnson was found on the Muskrat Creek Road, Shoshoni, Wyoming

A phone call was documented from Rawlins to Valley View in Riverton where she worked. She was found at the side of Muskrat Road near Shoshoni Wyoming by county worker who were removing an ice block. The road rarely traveled except by oilfield workers and county workers. She was partially buried by the bank that had caved in on her and she was completly nude wearing no jewelry. The attacker appeared to use a wide belt and she was in the kneeling position. Janelle was sexually assaulted vaginally and sodomized by both the attacker and an instrument. She appeared to have been dead for three days. There were bite marks on her shoulder that have not been identified yet.
