$10,000 REWARD!

Doris Bertsch, 70 years old, of Kenton Hills, Kentucky, was murdered in her own home on November 25, 1997. On the morning of the 25th, she visited a baby store with her daughter to look for a bassinet. After the shopping trip, the two went to the daughter's home to eat lunch. Doris was dropped off at her home at approximately 12 noon.

Doris had a 7:00 pm meeting with her accountant, and when she did not arrive, he became concerned and had the police check the house. Doris was found dead at approximately 9:00 pm. The police believe that she was murdered shortly after she was dropped off at her home, approximately 1:00 to 1:30 pm.

Not much is known about the crime scene, only that the basement sliding glass door was left ajar. The contents of her purse were dumped and the house was ransacked. Nothing was missing, except if there was cash in her purse.

The official cause of Doris's death was strangulation.

According to the Covington, Kentucky police, no one saw or heard anything. They state that they have very little to go on, with the most concrete evidence being a DNA sample.
