Unsolved Case #70
Reference Number 04-11

Christopher B. Elser
Murdered : April 17, 2004

Reward : $50,000

Christopher B. Elser, a junior at Johns Hopkins University, was stabbed at around 5:30 in the morning on April 17, 2004 in his SAE Fraternity house at 29th and St. Paul Streets in Baltimore, MD. He died in a Baltimore hospital the next day. There were no witnesses, but it is likely that an intruder came in to the fraternity house through an unlocked door. The intruder entered the room where Christopher was sleeping, looking for items to steal. Christopher must have woken up and tried to stop the robbery, and the intruder stabbed him. Before he collapsed, Christopher was able to wake someone sleeping in the next room and describe the killer as "a big black guy". The Baltimore police have a security videotape of a "person of interest" who is seen walking in an alley adjoining the alley behind the fraternity house at approximately the time Christopher was stabbed.
